HELLO FRIENDS

Well well well,
If you didn’t already have enough of me from my instagram stories, I introduce – THE BLOG. Because let’s be real, I always have more to say.
SO, I’ll start with a little intro as you do for these kinds of things.

I’m MacKenzie / Kenzi / Kenny
I introduce myself as MacKenzie only in two situations, A) When I’m pretending to be professional in corporate settings which doesn’t happen often or B) When I can’t be bothered telling people my name twice because usually when I say “Kenzi,” people hear “Kennedy” or “Candy.

Otherwise to all other strangers, I’m Kenzi. And to my family and a select few, I’m Kenny.

I moved from Wisconsin, to Australia with my fam, when I was just a little freckly, chaotic toddler. My sisters and I were given dual citizenship which would cause a lot of indecision for myself later in life as I navigated where I felt most at home. This questioning didn’t last long into my adulthood once I realised that I felt most at home where my Mom and sisters were. But before finding that out I moved to Illinois, back to Australia, popped over to The UK for a little bit, back to The US, then finally settled in Australia.

2018 was when I gave up the country jumping and decided to focus on giving my photography business all the love and attention it deserved as it had become a part of my life way back in 2010.
My mom, and one of my sisters, Haley are back in South Australia now too, while Brit still lives in Arizona, where she attended college. Both of my sisters blessed my life with two beautiful children each and being their Aunty is my favorite title in the world.

Family is the staple of my life and I would truly be lost without them. They’ve shaped me into the person I am, supported every dream I’ve ever had (which is a lot when you’re an artist), and are straight up my best pals. You’ll see lots of them if you follow me on social media!

For a while I worked in retail and in the wine industry until my career went full time in 2021 and ever since then I’ve never looked back. I’m photographing weddings, families, couples, and branding / self love sessions these days which fills my cup. I’m also leaning into the mentoring side of things so you’re right in time for new beginnings if you stick around for the journey 🙂
